EMPLOYMENT LAW IN-HOUSE COUNSELING WORKSHOP - FROM BOARDROOM TO COURTROOM
(LAWW-4049) - 1 UNIT

How does in-house counsel approach company problems? For many students, practicing law is about courtrooms, depositions, and discovery. But there is another side of law that takes place before a case is ever filed. In this course, students have the opportunity to act as in-house counsel for a variety of company clients. Students will learn the key employment laws and best practices relied upon by counsel when tackling employment-related claims. Faced with employee complaints, students will analyze the risks and advise clients on appropriate responses to workplace issues, including drafting a client letter.
