CALIFORNIA LEGAL RESEARCH
(LAWW-4014) - 1 UNIT

This course is designed to foster essential legal research skills for practice in California. Students will work on real-world research assignments using state-specific resources, including Rutter Group and CEB publications. During the course, students will learn how to perform basic California legislative histories, locate specialized resources, and utilize reliable free online legal resources. The course focuses on sharpening research techniques to provide students with the skills to locate relevant California cases, statutes, citation rules, court rules, secondary sources, and jury instructions in a time and cost-effective manner.
