LAW AND TECHNOLOGY LAB
(LAWP-4095) - 2 UNITS
This class explores the very cutting edge of law and technology. Each week will feature a topic chosen by students in the class. Once topics are chosen, a team of two students will brief the class on their chosen topic and lead a class exercise (with help from the Professor). Here are a few examples of recent topics: "Should Apple build a backdoor in the iPhone for the police?"; "Should the Treasury create a virtual dollar (and ban Bitcoin)?"; "When scientists bring dinosaurs back from extinction, will the Endangered Species Act apply?"; "How do the international space treaties apply to commercial constellation satellites like Starlink"?; "Should the U.S. 4th Amendment apply to data stored on servers in Ireland?" These topics are only for illustration purposes - you will pick your own. Grades will be based on these briefings and overall course performance.
