The Williams Institute Moot Court Competition is the only national competition focused solely on the issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. The moot court competition held at UCLA Law School draws competition teams, renowned leaders in the LGBT community, scholars, and members of the Judiciary who have authored and participated in significant legal cases involving LGBT issues. The competition requires the team (2-3 members) to write an appellate brief and compete in a series of appellate oral arguments.
