GOVERNMENT LAWYERING: THE INTERSECTION OF LAW & POLITICS

The field of government law and public service is diverse and far reaching. This course will introduce students to the world of government lawyers and leaders in the field - exploring the various ways in which lawyers can serve the public interest, including at, and as: Federal, state and local government agencies; city attorneys, prosecutors, public defenders, military lawyers, legislative counsel and administrative lawyers and judges. Classroom sessions will feature leaders in these fields and offer insights into the intersection of government lawyering and politics.

Over 13 weeks, students will have the unique opportunity to meet with, and to ask questions of prominent elected and appointed leaders of crucial government agencies on the city, county, state and federal levels.
