CONSTRUCTION LAW AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

As regulations are being implemented to address the threats of climate change, congestion and the rapid depletion of resources, current trends in building technology are compelling major changes in urban development and infrastructure projects. Government and private industry desperately need counsel who understand these trends, and who can deal with rapid innovations in the built environment. In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of construction law, current trends in real estate development, and the major legal issues and requirements for high performance, resilient and sustainable development projects. The course will also focus on traditional areas of contracts, legal liabilities and the resolution of disputes typically encountered on private development projects and on public works.
