PUBLIC SPEAKING FOR LAWYERS
(LAWJ-4069) - 2 UNITS

This course develops the oral communication skills needed for the practice of law, focusing on speaking that occurs outside the courtroom. Regular in-class exercises prepare for communication in a wide variety of non-litigation contexts, from speaking to other lawyers, to the media, and to a general audience. Students will also be introduced to examples of great American public oratory. Significant improvement in speaking skills should be experienced by all students, regardless of initial ability or confidence.
