TEACHING ASSITANT SEMINAR
(LAWJ-4067) - 2 UNIT

An introduction to instructional skills and strategies for assisting other students in writing, editing, and revising their work. This course is designed for students who would like to develop and practice editing and revision skills as well as those interested in exploring teaching, especially lawyering skills. In this two-semester course (spring and summer), students participate in a wide range of professional development activities tailored to developing the skill set necessary to provide feedback on legal writing. Participants will also build class and course management skills, and experience various approaches to teaching and learning. Finally, students will act as teaching assistants/writing tutors for other students by providing feedback, meeting with students, and making presentations under a professor's supervision. Application and professor approval required. Participation in both spring semester and summer session is required; there is no additional fee for the summer session unit, and some of the summer work will be done online.
