LEGAL RESEARCH FUNDAMENTALS FOR THE LITIGATOR
(LAWJ-4041) - 1 UNIT
This course reinforces and builds on 1L legal research while exploring resources specifically designed for litigators. Students will learn a different aspect of legal research relating to litigation each week, including the importance of practice guides, advanced case searching techniques, docket research, and understanding court rules and litigation analytics. This course satisfies the research requirement for the criminal justice, intellectual property, public interest, and entertainment law concentrations, but is open to all students. Grading is P/NP, based on completion of research assignments.
Please note that students who have taken Core Legal Research or Legal Research for the Transactional Lawyer will not be permitted to enroll in this course. Enrollment in this course will also prevent you from taking either of those two courses.
