The California Consumer Privacy Act, the first ever comprehensive privacy law in the United States, takes effect on January 1, 2020. The law was controversial from the start, passed in a rush in June 2018. The law completely changes the rules around the collection, use, sharing, and protection of personal information. What will these changes mean for businesses of all sizes? For California consumers? This course will offer an unprecedented opportunity to study the history and impact of a first of its kind law in its first few months of application.
