ADVANCED LEGAL RESEARCH
(LAWJ-4020) - 2 UNITS

This course prepares students for legal research in practice by reviewing and building upon the skills taught in first year legal research. Through a combination of lecture and research exercises, students will learn research strategy, effective use of legal databases, and advanced search techniques. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, how to locate and use secondary sources, statutes, legislative histories, case law, dockets, and administrative law.

Please note that if you take this course you will not be permitted to take Core Legal Research, Legal Research Fundamentals for the Litigator, or Legal Research for the Transactional Lawyer. If you have already taken one of those courses you may enroll in this course.
