INTRODUCTION TO AMERICAN LAW
(LAWJ-3003) - 2 UNITS

This course will introduce students to legal analysis and legal practice in the United States. The course will cover the basic structure of US government, US court systems, sources of US law, basic principles of common law, legal reasoning, the adversary process and the lawyer's role. The course will also survey substantive law in a range of subjects, such as contracts, torts, criminal law and procedure, evidence, property and Constitutional law.
