PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THE UNITED STATES
(LAWJ-3001) - 2 UNITS

This course will cover ethics, conflicts, and other professional responsibility issues that typically arise in the practice of law in the United States by examining the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, the California Rules of Professional Conduct, relevant sections of the California Business and Professions Code, and federal and state cases on the subject. The course will deal with real world issues including recognizing and addressing conflicts of interest, client intake, professional practice matters, governmental and judicial ethics, and similar matters.
