MENTAL DISABILITY LAW
(LAWI-4195) - 2 UNITS

This course introduces students to a variety of civil laws pertaining to mental disability in various aspects of life: employment accommodations, parity in health care coverage, special education, outpatient commitment, and anti-discrimination protections. Delve into some of the most challenging and timely legal issues facing persons with various forms of mental and intellectual disabilities. Students will be evaluated based on a final examination and an in-class presentation.

Students who have taken Mental Disability Law Seminar are not permitted to enroll in this course.

This course does not satisfy the upper division writing requirement.
