PLANNING FOR THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED
(LAWI-4180) - 2 UNITS

This course will take students through a practical approach of applied planning and advocacy for the elderly and disabled. Class sessions will focus on protecting the elderly and disabled, including topics such as health care and financial management, accessing public benefits, special needs trusts, conservatorships, and the ethics of representing those who have diminished capacity. There will be a take-home exam. The goal of this course is to get a glimpse of the rewards of the day to day practice in these areas.
