SOCIOLEGAL IMPLICATIONS OF COVID-19
(LAWI-4100) - 1 UNIT
The global pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted every sector of our lives, with short and potentially long term impacts on the economy and government institutions. Public and private law has already and will continue to play an important role in decisions and mobilization around recovery. This course will examine the various areas of law that will be applied to COVID-19 efforts, including insurance law; administrative law at the local, state, and federal levels; civil rights law; as well as other areas. We will also examine the impact of this global pandemic on vulnerable populations. We will hear from lawyers and policymakers from law, business, government, and public interest. Grading is Pass/Fail and will be based on reaction papers as well as completion of a final paper.
