STREET LAW TEACHING PRACTICUM: LEGAL LIFE SKILLS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVORS

Students enrolled in the Street Law Teaching Practicum will teach law-related critical life skills to domestic violence survivors at transitional housing facilities around Los Angeles County. Students will participate in mandatory weekly class meetings at Loyola Law School to prepare them to teach a ten week class in the community and to create resource binders for students in their class. In addition to teaching skills, students will learn strategies for working with domestic violence survivors and an overview of the law of domestic violence and restraining orders.

The first three Wednesday evenings will meet on campus. Students will then teach on Wednesday evenings in the community.
