SPECIAL EDUCATION/DISABILITY RIGHTS LAW
(LAWI-4053) - 2 UNITS

This course examines federal and state special education law including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The first half of the course will involve the study and analysis of relevant case law and statutes. The second half of the course students will apply their knowledge of special education law in a supervised clinical setting where they will handle a special education case through the Individual Education Plan and/or preparing for a possible mediation or due process hearing.
