RACE, GENDER AND THE LAW
(LAWI-4009) - 3 UNITS

This course will examine the ways in which law constructs, manages and regulates racial and gender identities. The course will also explore how historic and contemporary social attitudes shape legal frameworks and doctrines as they relate to race and gender. Topics explored in this course will include reproductive rights, sexuality, social welfare, incarceration and family as a mode of social organization.
