LABOR LAW

Labor law establishes workers' collective rights. This course studies practice and procedure under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), the law governing union organizing, collective bargaining, and other worker concerted activity. The course also explores historical perspectives on labor law, race and unions, issues particular to immigrant workers and public sector unions, union participation in the political process, and the ability of non-unionized workers to act collectively. In addition, through the lens of labor law, the course will tackle issues of statutory interpretation, administrative law, and constitutional law. The course will feature visits from nationally recognized labor law practitioners, government attorneys, and union organizers.
