AMERICAN LEGAL HISTORY: THE STORY OF FREEDOM IN AMERICA

This course provides an introduction to selected themes in American legal history from the eighteenth century to the present. Emphasis will be placed on the way in which the law and the legal profession have reflected and determined relations between various groups in American society. Major topics include the development of the legal profession and legal thought, race relations, relations between the sexes, and the regulation of economic activity.
