MOTION PICTURES: FINANCE AND PRODUCTION SEMINAR
(LAWF-4011) - 3 UNITS

This seminar covers an examination of key legal and business concepts arising in connection with the development, production, finance and economics of motion pictures, and also provides experience and training in contract drafting. It will utilize important case law, contractual, collective bargaining and other materials. While studying important types of agreements in the development of a motion picture, students will be required to draft a selection of development and production contracts based on provided forms and deal memos. The draft contracts will be evaluated and critiqued, which will comprise 1/3 of the student's grade, with the balance determined by a traditional exam. (Enrollment Limited to 15 students). Prerequisites may be waived by instructor.
