INTRODUCTION TO INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

This course surveys the main areas of intellectual property law: patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secrets. The purpose of the course is to provide an introduction to this important and rapidly developing area of law. The course is directed to first-year students who are looking for a basic understanding of intellectual property law as part of their general preparation for practice in the 21st Century. The course also serves as an entry way to the Intellectual Property concentration and will provide a foundation for advanced coursework in intellectual property.
