LAND USE REGULATION
(LAWE-4020) - 3 UNITS

This course examines how the development and use of land is controlled through government regulation. Among the issues this course will examine are: the law of zoning, the establishment of subdivisions, and constitutional constraints on land use regulation. The course will also examine persistent and evolving topics in land use regulation such as exclusionary zoning, smart growth, the protection of the environment, and the protection of cultural and aesthetic values. Students will approach these issues from both theoretical and practical perspectives.

Students who have taken Land Use Controls are not permitted to enroll in this course.
