FEDERAL CRIMINAL PROSECUTION

This seminar examines the role of the federal prosecutor in the criminal justice system and is designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the various stages of a federal criminal case. Participants will delve into the practical considerations and law governing the prosecutor's conduct at each stage of a case, as well as common ethical issues and real-world challenges that arise in the course of investigations, grand jury and charging decisions, arrests and post-arrest interviews, bail proceedings, discovery and disclosure matters, plea bargaining, proffering cooperating defendants, trials, sentencings, and appeals. The course may also incorporate guest speakers where appropriate.
