WHITE COLLAR CRIME
(LAWD-4008) - 3 UNITS

This course will cover the full range of substantive and procedural issues arising in the investigation, prosecution and defense of white collar crime. The substantive topics will include mail fraud, wire fraud, bribes, gratuities, securities fraud, corporate liability, regulatory offenses, and offenses arising during the underlying investigation, such as perjury, false statements, and obstruction of justice. As regards procedural issues, the course will cover the grand jury, the Fifth Amendment, conflicts, privileges, ethical issues, plea bargaining, and parallel proceedings.
